There is nothing like the weeks anticipating Christmas.
Children are euphoric dreaming about the toys they wish to get from Santa Claus, the cities are beautifully decorated accordingly and the adults are already counting the days to indulge themselves in lots of food and drinks.
In the letter or e-mail that should reach the North Pole, children guarantee they were nice throughout the year, that they behaved, that they got at least acceptable marks at school and therefore they deserve to be rewarded, because from nothing comes nothing.
I beg your pardon? Is there any adult here who thinks that children do not have this kind of thought? So why don’t you take a lollypop from a child’s mouth or take away his/her favourite toy just to see what happens?
But speaking of negotiations, the month of December is also a blessed time for parents -even those who are a rarity nowadays – that allow their kids to jump up and down on the new sofa or fool around with the TV’s remote control just to show the world how healthy their kids are. As I was saying, December is a blessed month for desperate parents because that’s when they get a little help from “above”…
Has your child been disrespectful? Tell her that Santa is watching her every move through his digital and HD camcorder hidden throughout the house and in the car too!
Did your child let go of your hand and left alone running in the street or in a packed entertainment park? Then he can be sure that Santa’s elves already took note on their Violation of Good Behaviour Rules notebook.
Does your child refuse to eat salad and to drink water because all she can think of is Coca-Cola and French fries with ketchup? Uh! This certainly means a gift less from Santa’s list.
Does your child treat his existing toys with disdain, not caring for it? Perhaps S.E.S. (Santa’s Express Service) will collect all the marginalized toys like a blink of an eye. But will he bring a new one, since every toy seems to have the same sad fate?
Does your child pull her sister’s hair often? Does your child enjoy spitting on the dog’s cute face? Does your child lie? Does he use his mattress as toilet at night, lazy to stand up and use the sanitary vase properly? Well children, keep in mind that Christmas is already around the corner…
But here among us, Santa Claus, give the kids a break!
Eventually the ever growing little ones will experience the shock of their lives when they figure that the kind, smiley, fat old pal who travels around the world in just one night (thank the different time zones) is nothing more than a traditional image to decorate windows of shops and an image their parents chose to use, in order to manipulate and threat them again and again.
“Aha! So this is the name of the game?” – reflects one of the children faced with the naked truth. “If it’s so, then I shall have my revenge! I just hope to have nice children in the future, otherwise: Ho, ho, ho…”
